Quiet in 2020

After months – maybe years of talking about it, there comes a time where you have to shut up or do it. So we have decided to do it. Too often busyness keeps us from being creative. While we both love the ministry where God has led us, and we’re not old – we are nearing old. Afterall, we bit the bullet this week and bought the natural herbs that are to help our arthritis. It is time.

Shhhh

We need to learn how to still serve God but also just be quiet sometimes and listen. We find our quiet in designing and creating. The Bible tells of Martha who was always busy doing, doing, doing, but not worshiping. Not being quiet and listening. We tend to be the male and female version of Martha.

Buy Tools – Check

But over the last couple of years, Noel has been building a very nice wood shop. Here is the progression that many wives will understand. Noel buys tools to do woodworking. He’s very good, by the way. As he does more woodworking, he needs more tools.

Wood is expensive; he’s afraid to be creative because it costs money every time he makes a mistake.

Free, right?

We live in the woods. Free trees everywhere. Noel buys a sawmill. Who knew how many people in our county have trees – perfectly good trees – that need removed. (He and Steve cut down 21 trees today!)

He now has no way to transport the FREE logs that he is getting. Noel buys a trailer – and adapts it with a wench and an arch.

He builds a kiln to dry his wood. How does he know how to do these things?

His truck is 20 years old. His sawmill is located off a gravel road. After at least 7 blown tires, the truck that pulls the trailer dies. Forever. Noel buys a new truck.

It is Time

Pam says it is time to make money with the tools, the trailer, and the truck.

Covid strikes and life is just different. Noel buys Pam a Cricut. Then a heat press. Then a sublimation printer. It is time.

So we would like to welcome you to our 2HCreations webpage and store (Click “Shop” in the top right corner). You can also find us on Facebook and Etsy, but stick around here, and you will see everything we make – or at least the items we want to admit to making. We will have a store and a blog. It will take us awhile to get going full-force.

You will love some of Noel’s tables that he plans to make, but he’s too busy at his sawmill right now. So keep coming back. Follow our page and talk to us. If you see some of his work that interests you, but it’s not exactly what you want, contact us. Nothing is mass-produced, so he will custom-make items that you might not be able to find anywhere but in your head.

One of our friends this last week told Noel, “I like your brain.” I get the privilege of being the rare wife that says, “I wish. . . ” and her husband makes the wish come true. Except for the puppy. I still don’t have the puppy. But I’m not talking presents – fancy clothes and cars. But if I need a better way of doing something or a more convenient item, I get it pretty quickly. Other than a cupboard by my bathroom, I don’t have a honey-do list. He just does it. Oh wait, there is also the cupboard in our office that I need. Anyway, contact us and ask if you have an idea of some woodworking item that you really need but can’t find anywhere. That’s where Noel excels. His brain is pretty cool.

I will be making t-shirts, mugs, jewelry, signs, garden things. . . For me this all started because Noel is very much into pickleball. I am his biggest fan. I looked everywhere for pickleball earrings to wear to his tournaments. Nothing. So I discovered a way to make them. And it just seems to be growing from there. If you can make pickleball earrings, you can also do volleyball. And softball. Soccer. Baseball. Basketball.

So please follow us, cheer us on, and talk to us. And remember stress is caused when we think we need to be in control of everything around us, when actually God wants us to slow down, listen, worship, and let Him be in control. What is your “thing” that can get your focus off of the craziness of 2020 and back on God? For us, it is making things with our hands and listening. Just listening. Shhhhh……
