Look at that siding. It’s almost done!
Noel has the sawmill barn door still to finish as well as 2 corners. He also needs to complete the fascia on the front, but then it is done. He did such a great job! And the colors look great.
As you can see, there is still something missing though – DOORS! We need doors, and they just don’t come in. So frustrating! We keep hearing “They will be on the next truck.” Nope. We have to move in 17 days, and we need those doors.
We also still need an air conditioner.
While Noel is working outside, I’ve been working inside for the last 3 days. Itch, itch, insulation! I have it all done except we need to still finish building the wall between the shop and shed – tomorrow. Then I will insulate that.
I also did the purlins. A month ago, I didn’t know what a purlin was, but today I added a lot of them to the walls so Noel can put up the steel walls this week. Even on the scaffolding, I did not like putting up that top purlin! Noel does need to insulate the attic before adding the ceiling. I tried to do that but didn’t have enough muscles to staple the paper to the trusses above my head.
The boys entertain themselves. They walk around with empty Gatorade bottles hanging out their mouths like stogies. It rained this week so Fuzz is enjoying mud baths; sitting in the puddle is not good enough; he must roll. He has to get a bath with the hose before he’s allowed even in the back of the truck.
17 days. A lot still needs to happen in 17 days, but we get closer every day. Ceiling. Steel walls. Electricity is there but outlets need to be put in. Water is to the building, but we need a shower, sink, and toilet. Shower needs tiled. Bedroom and rest of bathroom needs drywalled. I’m sure there is more that I don’t know. But then we need to move in. And did I mention – DOORS?!
